To install a DC power supply in the switch (see
1. Ensure that you have the correct power supply. The color of the power supply's ejector lever must
match the color of the exhaust labels visible through the fan tray vents. See
EX4500 Switches" on page

2. Attach the electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to
the ESD point on the chassis.
3. If the power supply slot has a cover panel on it, pull the handle of the cover panel outwards and remove
it. Save the cover panel for later use.
4. Taking care not to touch power supply pins, leads, or solder connections, remove the power supply
from the bag.
5. Using both hands, place the power supply in the power supply slot on the rear panel of the switch and
slide it in until it is fully seated. You will hear a distinct click sound when the power supply is fully seated
in the chassis.
