Configuration plan
Introduction
Configration plan gives the overview of the plant configuration. The network configuration of S7
400 and ET 200 slaves are done using the connectors of the location objects in the
configuration plan.
Requirement
● The "Locations" tab is selected in the Navigator.
● A cabinet has been created.
Note
The old configuration plans are not supported in the new version of PAA.
Benefits
You create the configuration plan below the cabinet. It shows a rough structure of the unit
including all hardware components and all line and ring buses.
The following objects are displayed:
● S7 400 stations
● ET 200 stations
● Workstations
● Plant bus
● Terminal bus
Place the required objects on the configuration plan with drag&drop and connect them.
Common functionalities for slaves
The new intelligent and dynamic symbols for the slaves ET 200M (DP and PN), ET 200PA
SMART (DP), ET 200iSP (only DP), ET 200SP HA (only PN), and ET 200SP (DP and PN, no
R1 redundancy) have the following functionalities:
● Interface modules can be selected and navigated to its object
Right-click on the interface module > "Navigate" > "Object".
● For PROFIBUS and Ethernet, the connectors available under the IM can be collected
dynamically and displayed
If a second IM is added or removed to the slave, the connectors will be changed dynamically
● An identification for the subtype (Green for Ethernet and Purple for PROFIBUS) is provided
at each connector.
Connection can be made only for the same subtype.
