Administrator
The administrator has the highest security level and hence all authorities. Critical functions,
such as user management or database adjustments, are accessible only to administrators.
Aggregated CMT
Aggregated Control Module Type
Alias Label
Alternative labels which can be defined in the engineering view.
AS
Automation System (AS) that consists of Power supply, CPU and a communication module.
Assembly Updater
It is a plugin used to update the changes made to a CMT(Control Module Types) or its variants
in PCS 7 or in the Type configurator plugin.
Attribute Tab
Attributes can be collected and sorted with the help of attribute tabs.
Automation Interface
The Automation Interface is an independent, standardized interface for the exchange of
engineering data. The user interface for the Automation Interface has the dialog title "Data
transfer - Generate/Import".
Base Object
Base objects are the fundamental descriptions of devices, procedures, and plans. They not
only describe the technical properties, but also contain management, procedure-specific, and
cost-related information. Base objects form the basis for prototyping.
Base Project
A base project is a basic project that serves as library for engineering projects, by providing the
base objects. Due to the properties and information prepared in them, base objects form the
standardized prototypes for engineering objects.
