Requirement
The required PCS 7 version is selected using the "Select version" in the "Customer settings"
categories of the properties windows of the project .
Note
Only the modules of the selected PCS 7 version will be available.
Procedure
The procedure below describes the HW configuration tool in general.
● In the menu bar, select the "Plugins > Automation > PCS 7 interface > "HW configuration
tool" command or click the icon on the toolbar.
The "HW configuration tool" plugin opens.
● Select the required I/O module to be configured from the available tabs in the "HW
configuration tool" window.
● Drag&drop the target object from the Navigator to the "Target object" field in the "Set
location as owner" area.
● Select the required interface modules and other components related to the particular
module in the "General" area.

● To create a redundant Power supply or Interface modules, check the "Redundant" option
● Selection of Rack, Power supply, and Interface modules are mandatory to enable the
Plant Automation Accelerator 3.0
