Process Tag
The process tag is neutral object in terms of resources. The process tag is used to connect the
PLC configuration world (STEP 7, CFC etc.) with the OS configuration world (PCS 7 OS). It
contains information about the location at which it exists at runtime (for example the network
address and the memory area on the PLC) as well as information about specify OS-relevant
properties.
Project
PAA operates project-based, which means all data are managed in projects. Each project is an
independent object that has many ↗owner collections, which store the engineering objects and
documents belonging to this project
Properties
Generic term for all characteristics and information visible on the outside of an object. The
external relations represent an exception; they are managed in collections.
Queries
Queries search for objects of a specific system type. The search result is displayed in an object
browser.
Role
A role includes different rights. When the role is assigned to a user, the rights apply for this user.
SFC
An SFC chart represents a sequential control system that runs as an independent controller in
the automation system. In addition to the "SFC chart" object type, the SFC also contains the
"SFC type" object type.
Signal
A signal designates the information unit that is further processed in functional diagrams or
signal flow diagrams, for example, "ON" or "OFF". It represents the input and output of the
control technology.

A symbolic address is a symbolic name with the following special characteristic: A symbolic
address is derived from the plant hierarchy and therefore depends on the hardware.
