*WASHER, INOPERATIVE —
TEST
4 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Washer Pump harness connector.
Disconnect the BCM C2 harness connector.
Disconnect the Multi-Function Switch harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Washer Pump Control Switch
Output circuit.
Is the resistance below 100.0 ohms?
Yes → Repair Washer Pump Control Switch Output circuit shorted to
→ Go To 5
No
5 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Multi-Function Switch harness connector.
Remove the Multi-Function Switch from the Steering Column.
Ensure that the washer switch is in the off position.
Measure the resistance of the Multi-Function Switch between terminal 1 and each of
the remaining six terminals in the 7-way connector (component side).
Is the resistance below 100.0 ohms for any of the measurements?
Yes → Replace the Right Multi-Function Switch.
→ Go To 6
No
6 If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
Repair
7 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Multi-Function Switch harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, probe the fused ignition switch output
circuit.
Does the test light illuminate?
Yes → Go To 8
→ Repair the Fused Ignition Switch Output Run/Acc for an open.
No
8 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Washer Pump harness connector.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, probe the washer pump ground
circuit.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes → Go To 9
→ Repair Ground circuit for an open.
No
