*HEADLAMP WASHERS NOT OPERATING PROPERLY —
TEST
3 Turn the ignition off.
Remove the Headlamp Washer Relay from the PDC.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check both Fused B(+) circuits in the
Headlamp Washer Relay connector.
Is the test light on for both circuits?
Yes → Go To 4
→ Repair the Fused B(+) circuit(s) for an open.
No
4 Turn the ignition off.
Install a substitute relay in place of the Headlamp Washer Relay.
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII , actuate the Headlamp Washer Relay.
Did the Headlamp Washers operate?
Yes → Replace the Headlamp Washer Relay.
→ Go To 5
No
5 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Headlamp Washer Pump Motor harness connector.
Connect a 12-volt test light between the Headlamp Washer Pump Motor harness
connector cavities.
With the DRBIII , actuate the Headlamp Washer Relay.
Does the test light cycle on and off during actuation?
Yes → Replace the Headlamp Washer Pump Motor.
→ Go To 6
No
6 Turn the ignition off.
Remove the Headlamp Washer Relay from the PDC.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage of the Headlamp Washer Relay Output circuit in the Headlamp
Washer Relay connector.
Is the voltage above 1.0 volt?
Yes → Repair the Headlamp Washer Relay Output circuit for a short to
→ Go To 7
No
7 Turn the ignition off.
Remove the Headlamp Washer Relay from the PDC.
Disconnect the Headlamp Washer Pump Motor harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Headlamp Washer Relay Output
circuit.
Is the resistance above 100 kohms?
Yes → Go To 8
→ Repair the Headlamp Washer Relay Output circuit for a short to
