Playing the imported data immediately (Quick Assign)

In order to play a sample that you imported or sampled, you must assign the sample to a patch or an audio
phrase.

Assigning a sample to a patch

You can assign the sampled data to specified a partial of a patch.
1.
Press [F3](Quick Assign) in "Importing the WAV or AIFF files" (p. 65) step 6 or "Importing
from an audio CD" (p. 70) step 7.
The Select Quick Assign message (Screen Guide; p. 213) will appear.
2.
Press [F5](AsgnToPatch).
The PATCH QUICK ASSIGN popup (Screen Guide; p. 216) will appear.

Specify the Part (part number) which you want to assign a sample.
4.
Specify the Assign To parameter which you want to assign the pad bank number and pad
number (note number).
If you want to play chromatic pitches using the sample, check the Make Keyboard box. If you check the Make
Keyboard box, you can also specify the range over which the sample is to be assigned.
5.
Press [F5](Execute).
A sample will assign to the specified velocity pad (note number).

Assigning a sample to an audio phrase

You can assign the sampled data to specified an audio phrase.
1.
Press [F3](Quick Assign) in "Importing the WAV or AIFF files" (p. 65) step 6 or "Importing
from an audio CD" (p. 70) step 7.
The Select Quick Assign message (Screen Guide; p. 213) will appear.
2.
Press [F3](AsgnToAPhrs).
The AUDIO PHRASE QUICK ASSIGN popup (Screen Guide; p. 214) will appear.

3.
Specify the Assign To parameter which you want to assign the pad bank number and pad
number.
4.
Press [F5](Execute).
A sample will assign to the specified velocity pad.
