Make synchronization settings on the external sequencer or hard disk recorder (slave
device) that is connected to the MV-8800.
For the procedure, refer to the owner's manual of the slave device.

MTC
In order to synchronize using MTC, the frame rate of both devices must match in order for synchronization to
occur correctly. On the MV-8800, this setting is made by the Frame Rate parameter.

Set the receiving sequencer or hard disk recorder to operate as the MMC slave
For details, refer to the owner's manual of the receiving device.

Press the MV-8800's [PLAY ( )].
The current time (measure - beat - tick) of the connected external device will synchronize with the MV-8800's
current time (measure - beat - tick), and the devices will operate (play) in synchronization.
❍ Pattern Mode
1.
Press [PATTERN].
The PATTERN screen (Screen Guide; p. 91) will appear.
2.
Press [MENU].
The MENU popup will appear.
3.
Select Pattern Sync and press [F5](Select).
The PATTERN SYNC screen (Screen Guide; p. 94) will appear.
The rest of the procedure is the same as in Song mode.
Synchronizing the MV-8800 with a connected external sequencer
MV-8800 setting
Set the Output parameter "On" for the MIDI connector
from which you want to transmit MIDI Clock.
Set the Output parameter "On" for the MIDI connector
from which you want to transmit MTC.
MTC synchronization is not possible unless the same
frame rate is selected on both devices. On the
MV-8800, this is set by the Frame Rate parameter.
External device setting
Make settings so that MIDI Clock
will be received (Slave).
Make settings so that MTC will
be received (Slave).
