Creating a new pattern

If you want to create a new pattern, start by initializing a pattern.
1.
Press [PATTERN].
The PATTERN screen will appear (Pattern Mode).
2.
Press [F1](Pattern List).
The PATTERN LIST screen (Screen Guide; p. 96) will appear.

Use CURSOR [
If the Name field indicates (Empty), this pattern has already been initialized. Proceed to step 7.
4.
Press [MENU].
The MENU popup will appear.
5.
Select "Initialize Pattern" and [F5](Select).
"Initialize Sure?" message will appear.
6.
Press [F5](Yes).
7.
Press [F5](Select).
The PATTERN screen (Screen Guide; p. 91) will appear. The current pattern is "empty" (initialized).

Explanation
The PATTERN PLAY screen (Screen Guide; p. 98) will appear.
The PATTERN PARAMETER popup (Screen Guide; p. 99) will appear.
The ASSIGN TO PAD popup (Screen Guide; p. 100) will appear. In this popup, the pattern
selected by the cursor in the PATTERN LIST screen can be assigned to a pad.
Auditions the currently-highlighted pattern. To hear auditioning, hold down [F4](Preview).
The pattern will switch to the one you selected.
