12. Paper Cutter

12.1 Description

WARNING!
In the standard cutter, the cutting edge
will rotate to home position when the
power is switched on
and when the printer is rebooted.
Always keep the cutter unit in closed
position during operation.

All EasyCoder 501 models can easily be fi tted with an optional
Paper Cutter unless the printer is not already fi tted with an label-
taken sensor (see Chapter 11). There are two types of paper cutters,
a standard cutter for EasyCoder 501 S, E, and SA and a linerless
cutter for EasyCoder 501 LL. Both cutter units are fi tted on the
same hinges as the front door, which they replace, and is connected
by a single cable to the DIN-connector on the printer's front.
The paper cutters are available both as a factory-installed options
and as a fi eld-installable upgrading kit.
