Intermec EasyCoder 501 – Service Manual Ed. 7
The tear bar is fi tted to the front of the print unit using two
#T20 Torx screws. The bar is not only used for tearing off
continuous stock, but it also helps to separate self-adhesive
labels from the liner, when a liner takeup unit is used
(peel-off/self-strip operation).
In EasyCoder 501 LinerLess, the tear bar is plasma-coated to
prevent the linerless media to stick to the bar.
When media is to be rewound internally (see Chapter 9), the
tear bar must be replaced by an optional takeup guide using the
same screws, as illustrated below. When not used, the takeup
guide can be stored at the rear of the media compartment
as illustrated in Chapter 1.1. There is no such device in the
EasyCoder 501 LinerLess.
When the tear bar is fi tted back after batch takeup operation,
make sure to mount it as far down as the holes for the
screws allow.
