To install a Scaleable Fonts Kit, proceed as follows:
• Switch off the power, and disconnect the power cord.
• Open up the electronics compartment by removing the eight
#T10 Torx screws that hold the left-hand cover.
• Check that there are no jumpers fi tted in the right-hand posi-
tion on P-100, P-101, and P-102 on the CPU board. Such
jumpers indicate that the printer is fi tted with Flash Memory
packages, which excludes the installation of the Scaleable Fonts
Kit. No jumpers fi tted, or jumpers fi tted in the left-hand posi-
1
tion, is OK
.
• Remove the existing GAL circuit on IC-700 on the CPU board
and replace it with the smallest of the circuits included in the
kit. The small semicircular mark must face upward.
• Fit the EPROM package marked "# 5" in socket IC-104, and
the EPROM package marked "# 6" in socket IC-105. In both
cases, the semicircular mark must face upward.
• Inspect the circuits you have fi tted for bent legs. If necessary,
remove the circuit and refi t it.
• Put back the left-hand cover, connect the power cord, and
switch on the power.
