Intermec EasyCoder 501 – Service Manual Ed. 7
There are two types of printhead available for the EasyCoder 501
S, 501 E, and 501 SA printers, one with a density of 8 dots/mm
(203.2 dpi) and one with 11.81 dots/mm (300 dpi). There is also
a special 8 dots/mm printhead for EasyCoder 501 LinerLess. The

The printhead is fi tted to an adapter plate by means of a single
screw. A locking mechanism operated by a lever holds the adapter
plate to the headlift bracket. A guide screw can be fi tted either to
the left or right at the top of the adapter plate in order to select the
printhead's lateral position in relation to the headlift bracket, see
later in this chapter.
There are two cables from the printhead to the CPU board:
• The outermost cable (protected by a black plastic tube) is used
for the power to the printhead and is connected to P-301 on the
CPU board.
• The innermost cable (20-p blue fl at cable) is used for data to the
printhead and is connected to P-700 on the CPU board.
