Chapter 24 Print Quality Adjustment
24.1 Test Labels, cont.

Test Label 2
Test label 2 contains a chessboard pattern that reveals any varia-
tions in printhead quality, weak printout, and wrinkled transfer
ribbon.
Stronger printout on one side indicates misalignment in the print-
head mechanism, whereas spots with weaker or darker printout are
symptoms of an unevenly worn pressing roller (platen) or foreign
objects on it.
A sudden change from darker to weaker printout across the media
indicates a small image buffer. In extreme cases, only part of the
pattern will be printed.
