9. Liner/Batch Takeup Kit

9.1 Description

66
The liner/batch takeup kit is an optional factory-installed device
for EasyCoder 501 S, E, and SA (but not EasyCoder 501 Liner-
Less) that makes it possible to auto-dispense self-adhesive labels
from the liner (peel-off/self-strip operation), or to wind up printed
labels, tickets, or continuous stock internally (batch takeup opera-
tion). The liner/batch takeup kit consists of three main parts:
• A stepper motor that drives the liner drive roller roller in the
print unit and the takeup unit. The rewind roller is fi tted as stan-
dard even when no rewind kit is installed.
• A rewind unit that takes up the spent liner or the printed media
to be rewound for later use.
• A guide plate that replaces the tear bar when labels or other
types of printed media are wound up internally (also see Chap-
ter 8.5). When not used, the rewind guide is fi tted by means of
two #T20 Torx screws at the rear of the media compartment.
The guide plate is stored at the rear media compartment when
not in use.
Replace the tear bar with the guide plate for batch takeup oper-
ation.
