Chapter 8 Print Unit
8.4 Stepper Motor,
cont.
Ribbon Assist Roller

Adjustment of the platen roller belt
Oversized holes allow the position of the stepper motor relative
to the bracket to be adjusted so the tension of the belt does not
become too tight, causing unnecessary wear. Rotate the gear wheel
¼ of a turn at a time and check that the gear wheel and pressing
roller can be rotated freely by the belt, which should fl ex just a little
when you press it with your fi nger.
Adjustment of ribbon rewinder belt (not EasyCoder 501 LL)
The belt should be adjusted so it neither jump the cogs nor
becomes subjected to unnecessary wear.
Slightly loosen the two #T20 Torx screws that hold the fl ange of
the ribbon rewind unit.
Turn the ribbon rewind unit so the belt becomes tight, yet will fl ex
slightly when you press it with a fi nger. Tighten the screws.
Check that the parts can rotate freely and without any unpleasant
sound and that the belt does not jump the cogs when you rotate the
ribbon rewind unit forcefully.
EasyCoder 501 LinerLess has no transfer ribbon mechanism or
liner drive roller. It has also another type of stepper motor bracket,
see Chapter 8.2.
