Diesel Generator-Checking/Cleaning Typical Air Cleaner
Clean or replace the generator air intake fi lter according to
the maintenance schedule. If unit is used in dusty or dirty
environments maintenance will be required sooner.
A dry type air cleaner silences and fi lters the incoming air.
The assembly connects to the intake manifold through a
fl exible hose.
Air Cleaner Element
To clean/replace air cleaner follow these steps:
1. Release the fasteners to open the housing and remove
the air fi lter element.
2. Tap the element lightly against a fi rm surface to loosen
any surface debris. Do not clean in any type of liquid or
use compressed air as these types of fi lter elements will
be damaged.
3. Examine the element and housing for damage and wear.
Replace the element or housing if needed.
4. Wipe the cover and base with a clean cloth to remove
any dirt. Make sure that the sealing surfaces fi t correctly,
and reattach the fasteners.
