13.6.1 EARLY SENSOR SHUT-OFF – SENSOR
FAILURE
The receiver may detect issues with the sensor
where it cannot determine the sensor glucose
reading. The sensor session ends and the
receiver shows the "Sensor Failed" screen. If
you see this screen, it means the CGM session
has ended. Press the
this screen.
Contact your healthcare professional. You may
need to remove the sensor yourself or your healthcare professional
might help you remove it and insert a new sensor, if appropriate.
To help improve future sensor performance:
• Make sure the sensor is not expired.
• Make sure the transmitter is snapped in.
• Make sure the sensor pod is not dislodged or peeling up.
• Make sure nothing is rubbing the sensor pod (i.e. clothing, seat belts,
etc.).
• Make sure you have selected a good insertion site (see Chapter 6,
Section 6.3, Choosing an Insertion Site).
• Make sure the insertion site is clean and dry prior to sensor insertion.
13.6.2 MANUAL SENSOR SHUT-OFF – "STOP
SENSOR"
There may be times that the user or healthcare professional will want
to stop the sensor session before the end of the seven days. Some of
these times may include removing the sensor early due to:
• Calibration issues that cannot be resolved
•
symbol that does not resolve
• Sensor adhesion issues
