PRECAUTION
To calibrate the system, enter the exact blood glucose
value that your blood glucose meter displays within
5 minutes of a carefully performed blood glucose
measurement. Entering incorrect blood glucose values or
blood glucose values from more than 5 minutes before
entry might affect sensor performance, and you might
miss a low or high blood glucose value.
7.3 STARTUP CALIBRATION
Two hours after you start the sensor session
(see Chapter 6, Section 6.7, Starting a
Sensor Session) the receiver tells you
that you need to calibrate by showing the
startup calibration prompt. This means you
need to calibrate with 2 separate blood
glucose values from the meter. If used in
real-time mode, the receiver will not
show sensor glucose readings until
the receiver accepts the blood glucose
values for calibration. If used in blinded
mode, the receiver will not show sensor
glucose readings throughout the 7-day
sensor session. However, the receiver
will confirm that it is properly recording
sensor glucose readings every 5 minutes
by showing "- - -" in the status area of the
receiver screen.
1. T he receiver will alert you based on the alert profile setting chosen.
