in real-time mode
Often, the system can correct the problem and continue providing or
recording sensor glucose readings. If it has been at least 3 hours since
the last sensor glucose reading, contact Technical Support (see Chapter
15, User Assistance).
If you see these system glucose error icons often, follow these
troubleshooting tips before inserting another sensor:
• Make sure the sensor is not expired.
• Make sure the sensor pod is not dislodged or peeling up.
• Make sure the transmitter is snapped in completely.
• Make sure nothing is rubbing the sensor pod (i.e. clothing, seat belts,
etc.).
• Make sure you selected a good insertion site (see Chapter 6, Section
6.3, Choosing an Insertion Site).
• Make sure the insertion site is clean and dry before sensor insertion.
13.5 SENSOR INACCURACIES IN REAL-TIME
MODE
Inaccuracies are usually related to the sensor only and not the receiver
or transmitter. The sensor glucose readings are meant to be used for
trending purposes only. The blood glucose meter and sensor measure
the glucose from two different types of body fluids: blood and interstitial
