To turn the receiver back on and resume communication with the
transmitter, press and hold the
SELECT
button. It may take up to 20
seconds for the display to turn back on.
Remember that the alerts and low glucose alarm will not work
when the receiver is shut down nor will any sensor glucose
readings be recorded. All sensor glucose data will be lost.
Shutting down the receiver does not extend the sensor life beyond
7 days. The sensor session will stop 7 days after you started
the sensor session. Once you turn the receiver back on from
Shutdown mode, you will not need to calibrate or do anything
specific to resume.
6.11 THE DEXCOM G4 PLATINUM
PROFESSIONAL SYSTEM AND WATER
The sensor is water resistant when showering, bathing or swimming if
the transmitter is fully snapped in. The sensor has been tested to be
water resistant when submerged for up to 8 feet and up to 24 hours.
Keep the receiver dry. Do not spill fluids on it or drop it into fluids. The
receiver shield does not add protection from fluids that may damage
the receiver. Keep the micro USB port cover open throughout
the sensor session and keep the square seal over the USB port.
Wireless communication does not work well through water so the range
is much less if you are in a pool, bathtub or water bed.
If the receiver gets wet, make sure the speaker and vibrate mode are
still working. You can do this using the Try It option in the profiles menu.
See Chapter 9, Section 9.3, Alert Profiles.
