About this Chapter

The TrangoLINK APEX 18 systems can be managed though a number of methods.
Network management can be performed by three methods
• Browser Interface (HTTP, HTTPS) - Chapter 3 Configuration
• CLI (Console, Telnet, SSH) - Command Set Reference Appendix A
• SNMP Manager - Discussed in this chapter.
Though the TrangoLINK-Apex system can be managed via HTTP browser and
command line console, we will focus management via SNMP in this chapter. Please
review Chapter 3 for HTTP configuration and Appendix A for CLI configuration
commands and procedures.
Understanding and familiarization of SNMP concepts and software platforms are
required to utilize SNMP management of the TrangoLINK – Apex system. Due to the
large number of programs available for SNMP, Trango does not provide support of
SNMP software packages or NMS systems. Some common items to try if you are
having issues monitoring a specific OID is:
• Properly load the MIB's into your software
• Try adding a " .0 " at the end of your OID string
