4.1 Overview

The Developer Unit consists of a hopper containing toner and carrier, plus a magnet roller. The magnet
roller provides measured amounts of toner to the OPC Drum Unit, for developing the page image. See
Figure 4–1.
This unit is factory assembled and factory adjusted. No field adjustments are required.
4.2 Removal and Disassembly
To remove the Developer Unit from the printer, first open the top and front covers of the printer. Then,
unlock the green locking levers on each side of the Developer Unit, and lift the unit out of the printer along
the plastic rails on each side. See Figure 4–2 .

When removing the Developer Unit from the printer, be careful not to
turn the unit over, because toner may spill out of the unit.
