Clearance between Hypoid Pinion Shaft and 29T Gear
1. Measure the 29T gear I.D. and hypoid pinion O.D..
2. Calculate the clearance.
3. If the clearance exceeds the allowable limit, replace.

1. Measure the 13T gear I.D. and hypoid pinion O.D..
2. Calculate the clearance.
3. If the clearance exceeds the allowable limit, replace.

Backlash between Differential Pinion and Differential Side Gear
1. Set a dial indicator (lever type) on the tooth of differential
pinion.
2. Hold the differential side gear and move the differential pinion
to measure the backlash.
3. If the measurement exceeds the allowable limit, adjust with the
differential side gear shim.
