2. Remove the water pump housing assembly noting
the location of the longer cap screw. Account for a
gasket and two alignment pins.
3. Remove two cap screws and the oil bolt securing
the oil pressure relief line to the engine. Account
for two crush washers and an O-ring.

4. Remove the water pump drive gear; then remove
the speed sensor housing assembly. Account for
two alignment pins, a gasket, and two seal wash-
ers.
5. Remove the cap screws securing the magneto
cover to the crankcase. Note the location of the
two internal cap screws and the two longer cap
screws.
6. Remove the magneto cover and account for two
alignment pins and the gasket.

NOTE: Steps 1-6 in the preceding sub-section

7. Remove the nut securing the rotor/flywheel on the
crankshaft and install the crankshaft protector.
