Make sure the Document Printer(s) are enabled prior to feeding
documents. Document Printers may be enabled/disabled at the mode
level using function code F40.
Function Code F44 allows you to omit printing on the next document only
if the Document Printer(s) is enabled.
The print position specifies how far from the leading edge of the
document information will be printed.
The default print position for all printers may be changed using function
code F46.
These functions allow you to temporarily change the default print position.
The new print position is used to print information until function code F02
(Restore mode) is used to return the starting print position to its original
value (provided that mode overrides are not saved), or until function code
F46 is used to change the print position.
NOTE: The print position should be carefully calculated. Make sure to set
the print position close enough to the leading edge (fed into the
transport first) of the document so the printed information does
not extend beyond the trailing edge of the document.
Perform a print test to verify the operation, print position and print quality
of the Document Printer(s) before feeding documents.
A print test may be performed using function code F45. You may select
one of the following print test options:
Print IA
prints the image address
Prime
prints a solid test pattern
Feed as many documents as needed to verify overall operation of the
Document Printer(s) during the print test. When you are satisfied the
overall operation is satisfactory, press Stop.
NOTE: The print position may be changed while a print test is being
performed.
