Cleaning and priming
the Document Printer
9-30
To maintain print quality, a cleaning and priming procedure is necessary.
IMPORTANT: Ink deposits or spills could occur if you are not careful
during priming.
1. Open the front cover.
2. Note the current location of the Document Printer, then lift it from the
transport plate.
3. Raise the holding bar up from the ink cartridge and carriage.
4. Slide the ink cartridge out of the carriage and examine it for a deflated
bladder. If the bladder appears deflated, discard the cartridge and
replace it with a new cartridge.
5. Check for any accumulation of ink on the jets or face. Wipe off any
ink from the jets and face with a clean, dampened, lint-free cloth.
