Before you begin
Positioning the
patch head
Using one patch head

Before feeding documents containing patches, verify the following:
Patch reading is enabled.
The patch head is properly positioned.
End-fed patch reading is enabled (if desired).
The patch code confirmation tone is enabled (if desired).
One or two patch heads may be installed. There are five locations for
the front patch head and 6 locations for the rear patch head.
NOTE: If patch reading is performed by a Document Scanning Array,
the following instructions do not apply.
A single patch head may be installed to read patches placed on the
front or rear of the documents being processed.

If the patch head is installed to read the front of the documents being
processed (as shown above), you may move it.
To move the patch head:
1. Lift the patch head out of the current location and place it in the
desired location.
2. Be sure the patch placed on the document and the position of the
patch head are aligned so the patch will be read properly.
If the patch head is installed to read the rear of the documents being
processed (not shown), it can only be moved by a Kodak Field Engineer.
