2.3 Flow from Installation to Operation
This section explains the flow of work from installation to the start of ETERNUS2000 operation.
Contact your sales representative or maintenance engineer to perform the device installation and setup, or
follow the work flow shown below to perform the device installation and setup by yourself:

Preparation
Prepare and check the following items:
- Acquire IP address (for ETERNUS2000 and PC for maintenance engineer) and check the subnet masks
- Prepare a web browser and install Java Runtime Environment
- Prepare network devices such as a switching hub

Installation Location Requirements
Check the required space for the ETERNUS2000, conditions and environment for the location,
and the number of power cords and the shape of the connector.

Package Contents Check
Refer to "ETERNUS2000 models 100 and 200 disk storage system Package Contents" and check
that there are no missing parts.
Installation
Attach the rack mount kit to the rack and install the ETERNUS2000.
Standard Connection
Connect the following cables.
- LAN cable (twist pair cable compatible with Category 5) (For operation management)
- Fibre Channel cable (For the Fibre Channel type)
- LAN cable (twist pair cable compatible with enhanced Category 5) (For the iSCSI type)
- miniSAS cable (For the SAS type)
- miniSAS cable (For connecting drive enclosures)
- Power cords
