RAID Group Creation (Setting4)
Create a RAID group (a group of disk drives configuring RAID in the storage system device).

Specify the disk drive to be registered as the Hot Spare (multiple selections can
be made), and click the [OK] button.

A confirmation screen appears.
Click the [Yes] button.
After completing the setting successfully, the Setting3 screen is closed.
• When operating with factory default settings, this setting is not
required. When changing the factory default setting, delete the fac-
tory setting (volume, RAID group, and LUN mapping) and then create
RAID groups. For details on delet ing the setting, refer to
"ETERNUS2000 ETERNUSmgr User Guide -Settings/Maintenance-".
• For RAID5 and RAID6, ensure that a single RAID group is not being
configured by too many disk drives. Doing so may increase the time
to perform Rebuild/Copyback when a disk drive fails.
• Disk drives with different capacities can be installed in a single Drive
Enclosure. However, All disk drives configuring a RAID group should
be of the same capacity. Do not include disk drives with a different
capacity in a RAID group.
