Installing and Setting up ETERNUSmgr

ETERNUSmgr can monitor the status of ETERNUS2000. ETERNUSmgr is supplied with the
ETERNUS2000 as standard.
IMPORTANT
When using ETERNUSmgr, install it in the management server.
For details on installing ETERNUSmgr, refer to "ETERNUS disk storage systems ETERNUSmgr Install
Guide".

• ETERNUSmgr does not need to be installed. However, when
ETERNUSmgr is not used, be sure to monitor the status of the
ETERNUS2000 by another method (for example, using ETERNUS
SF Storage Cruiser and so on).
• Set the management server to be able to use the Web service.
• Set the directory where ETERNUSmgr is installed so that http access
is possible.

In this guide the server that is running ETERNUSmgr and using it to
monitor the ETERNUS2000 over a LAN connection is called the "man-
agement server".
If so desired, this management server can be one of the client servers.
