Calibrated CR Level Controls
Cal Level
The CR level can be set to any true dB value between 0 dB and -30.0 dB by pressing
the Cal button (top-right on the CR Output Panel) and using the Jog wheel. The Mon-
itor knob in the CR Output controls can also be used to change the value.
This value persists between rebotting the console and loading new Titles.
dB SPL Level
The relative dB SPL value displayed for the Monitor knob can be set by pressing dB-
SPL button (second from top-right) on the CR Output Panel and using the Jog wheel to
set a value in in the range 65–115 dB (integer values only). This is a relative dB SPL
value of the actual gain set by Cal Level above. This value, always calculated from the
actual level using these values as a reference point, is displayed on the CR Output Con-
trols LCD. For example:
If Cal Level = -10.0 dB and dBSPL = 85, the knob values are in the range 0–95 (85
= -10).
If Cal Level = -0.0 dB and dBSPL = 115, the knob values range from 0–115 (85 =
-30 console default).
This value persists between rebooting the console and loading new Titles.
Fixed Level Function
The Mon Cal mode can be enabled by pressing the top-left button on the CR Output
panel so it lights. This turns off the CR Output Control's Monitor knob indicators,
showing that the knob no longer functions as a control. The Montitor level is set to the
Cal Level discussed above and is shown in dBSPL on the display.
This value persists between rebooting the console and loading new Titles. Dim and Cut
operate normally.

SLS/Cue Monitor Outputs

Mon A–D are usually used for SLS and Cue feeds. Each has its own level control and
LCD display that shows the source and level when adjusted. The center knob switch
turns the monitor on/off. These controls are shown on the left of Figure 5-3.
