Connection of the chlorine sensor with
controllers with two channels
Note the following when connecting the sensors when measuring chlorine with pH compensation.
The measuring channel must have the measured variable combination VA or AA.
n
Connect the pH sensor to channel 1 and the chlorine sensor to channel 2.
n
VA module:
n
When using a coaxial cable on the shield terminal and on the internal conductor, as per the ter‐
minal diagram.
AA module:
n
When using a transducer pHV1 (mA), connect the sensors to the terminals, as per the terminal dia‐
gram.
pH measurement using a transmitter
[4 mA = pH 15.45] and [20 mA = pH -1.45]
Connection of the transmitter DMTa
A DMTa is connected to the controller as a 2-conductor transmitter:
Terminal DACx, channel 1: as per the terminal diagram

Terminal DACx, channel 2: as per the terminal diagram

Third-party manufacturer's transmitter
Connect a third-party manufacturer's transmitter as follows to the controller if the transmitter delivers an
active signal:
Terminal DACx, channel 1: as per the terminal diagram
n
Terminal DACx, channel 2: as per the terminal diagram

You also need to compensate for the temperature of the pH value
to ensure correct pH compensation.
To do so, connect the temperature sensor to the VA module, as
per the terminal diagram.
The AA module does not have temperature compensation for the
pH value and the AA module should therefore only be used with
minimal temperature fluctuations of the sample water.
Depending on the identity code of the controller (Channel 3 =
Package 4), connect the interference variable, if using one, to the
mA input of the extension assembly, as per the terminal diagram
The multiplicative interference variable influences the pH and
chlorine control.
If you connect a pH measurement to the controller via a transmitter
DULCOMETER DMTa or a third-party manufacturer's pH meas‐
uring device, then you need to assign mA-pH in the DMTa or in the
third-party manufacturer's pH measuring device as follows:
