Username Rules
If a username is already in the /etc/passwd file or in the current database, it cannot be used to create a new
user.
The following rules are used to assign a username:
■ The first character must be a lowercase alphabetic character: a...z
■ Remaining characters can be any of the following characters:
• Lowercase alphabetic: a...z
• Numeric: 0...9
• Hyphen: -
• Underscore: _

UMIN determines the minimum length of usernames. The default value of UMIN is 3. The range of UMIN is 3...
32. The value of UMIN can be changed using CLI command.
Command:
% set security systemwide umin <3...32>
In the YANG model, UMIN is set by the value of keyword umin in node security:systemwide.
Username Scenarios
If a username value is entered on a command line, characters following # are ignored (interpreted as a
comment). For example, in the following command the username is set to user1 (ignoring #345).
Command Example:
% set users user user1#345

User Group Permissions
The user group defines the user level of access to the system. Configuration, turn-up, and certain other
commands require Level-4 (root) user group permissions. The default username and password (fujitsu/1finity)
provide Level-4 permissions that allow access to all functions on the system.
