System Description and Engineering
System Features
The postoutadj design value for the network is calculated during network design and planning process.
Postoutadj value range is within –15.0...0.0 dB. The default value is 0.0 dB. Setting should be implemented in the
initial system turn-up.

OSC Power Adjustment

Release 19.1.1 introduces OSC power adjustment feature to reduce the impact of an OSC signal on the traffic
signal transmit distance in a network. An OSC signal may cause Cross Phase Mixing (XPM) that is one of the root
causes of reduction in the signal transmit distance.
The OSC power adjustment feature enables the L100 Blade to place an external PAD between the 100 Mb/s OSC
SFP (FC9581B62F) and the OSC port. This PAD reduces the impact of an OSC on the signal transmit distance. The
effectiveness of the PAD depends on the span loss and the fiber type.
Important: Fujitsu does not recommend using third-party OSC SFP module because the power of
third-party OSC module is not guaranteed.

Critical Data Storage Feature

The purpose of Critical Data Storage Feature (CDSF) is to provide for the automatic recovery of specific NE
management interfaces when both the primary and secondary NE databases are found to be corrupted after an
NE reset. Using the recovered NE management interfaces, the user may address the corrupted database by
restoring it from an externally stored backup file. 1FINITY management interfaces can be recovered as long as NE
is not power reset.
CDSF is a critical data segment feature which allows DCN connectivity up for the L100 Blade even if the NE
database is corrupted. The user can still log on to the NE remotely and restore database instead of doing truck
roll.
If the primary and secondary databases are corrupted, the NE raises a database corruption alarm.

Automatic Software Download

The automatic software download feature automatically updates a tributary blade software when the tributary is
spared or in-service upgrade is performed. The automatic download is supported when the Main blade with
Release 2.5 or later is connected to the tributary blade with Release 2.4.1 or later.
