CLI Command Prompts

Caution: Fujitsu does not recommend changing the values of prompt1 or prompt2.
If the default settings are kept, as recommended, the CLI command prompt changes with user, host, and CLI
command mode as shown in the following table.

Note: For 1FINITY NEs, the hostname is the value of system name. (Refer to

User Guide CLI Command Prompt Convention
In this user guide, CLI commands are typically illustrated using only a single-character, either (>) or (%) for the
command prompt. The single-character prompt indicates the applicable CLI command mode:
■ (>) indicates that the command is entered in operational mode
■ (%) indicates that the command is entered in configuration mode
The single-character prompt should be interpreted as an abbreviated representation of the full CLI command
prompt, which includes fujitsu@fujitsu preceding the single character.
The following example shows a CLI command entered in configuration mode.
Command:
% show system services telnet
If a user has the username fred and is logged onto a system with hostname AcmeNet-T100-31, the screen
displays:
