Password Rules
Password Modes
The two modes for password content are BASIC and ENHANCED. The default mode is BASIC. ENHANCED mode
has more restrictive content and length rules. The password mode can be changed using CLI command:
Command:
% set security systemwide pcontent <BASIC|ENHANCED>
In the YANG model, the password mode is set using keyword pcontent in node security:systemwide.
Password Length
The minimum password length is set by PMIN. The maximum password length is 128. PMIN can be changed
using CLI command:
Command:
% set security systemwide pmin <6...20>
In the YANG model, PMIN is value of keyword pmin in node security:systemwide.
General Content Rules
The password character set includes the following characters:
■ Lowercase alphabetic: a...z
■ Uppercase alphabetic: A...Z
■ Numeric: 0...9
■ Special: ! @ $ % ^ ( ) _ + ~ { } [ ] . - & *
