Using the ViewStation SP with a PC

This chapter describes how to use a PC with a ViewStation SP and
the various tasks you can perform from the PC.
The ViewStation SP is equipped with an embedded web server
which allows the PC user to access the ViewStation SP features
such as:
• Select a Presentation
• View a Presentation
• Closed Caption
• Start NetMeeting
• System Information and Management.
These features are accessed on the ViewStation SP web interface
screen. To use these features, connect your PC to the ViewStation
SP over the LAN or through a direct Ethernet connection.
Note To connect the ViewStation SP directly to a PC, the
cross-over connector included in the ViewStation SP box
must be used
There are two ways to connect a PC to the ViewStation SP. Refer to
the ViewStation SP QuickStart card for detailed information on
connecting cables. It is assumed that the ViewStation SP is
connected to the Ethernet LAN as shown in Figure 4-1 (a and b.)
