Fault Lights for Fan Canister Replacement

If the fan Fault indicator is on or the fans are not spinning, the canister may be
installed incorrectly. Remove the fan canister and reinstall it.
•
If any of the other Fault indicators shown in Figure 7-3 are on, refer to the
storage management software (TPSSM7) for problem determination.
Use the following procedure when instructed by the storage management software
(TPSSM7) to replace a failed power supply canister.
Before starting this procedure, read "Power Supply Canister" on page 80.
Caution: Electrostatic discharge can damage sensitive components. Use a grounded
wrist strap or other antistatic precautions before handling drive enclosure components.
1.
Check the storage management software (TPSSM7) for instructions on power
supply failure recovery procedures. Follow the steps given in the software
procedure before continuing with this procedure.
2. Unpack the new power supply canister.
Set the new power supply canister on a dry, level surface near the drive enclosure.
Save all packing materials in case you need to return the canister.
