Performing the Safety Inspection Procedure
Before you service the unit, perform the following safety inspection procedure:
1. Ensure with the customer that all activity between the host and library and
2. Stop all activity between the host and the library's tape drives.
3. Turn off the power to the library by pressing 0 on the Power button for each
4. Disconnect the library's Fibre Channel cables.
5. Unplug the library's power cords from the electrical outlet and the library's
6. Check the library's power cords for damage, such as a pinched, cut, or frayed
7. Check the tape drive's Fibre Channel cables for damage.
8. Check the cover of the library for sharp edges, damage, or alterations that expose
9. Check the cover of the library for proper fit. It should be in place and secure.
10. Check the product label at the rear of the library to make sure it matches the

3. Disconnect the power cord from its source.
4. Inspect the power cable for visible cracks, wear, or damage.
5. Inspect the power supply enclosure covers to ensure all screws are installed and
