Adding a Drive Canister from Another Library (Feature Code 4685)
3592 drive canisters (Models E05, E06, and EU6) can be moved and installed in the
TS3400 Tape Library from the following tape libraries:
• 3584 (TS3500 Tape Library)
• 3494 (3494 Tape Library)
• Model C20 (3592 Tape Frame Model C20)
To install a 3592 drive canister from another tape library, complete the following
steps:
1. Remove the 3592 drive canister from its current location. Refer to the associated

Installing Library Components Removed for Weight Reduction
Once the library is installed on the desktop or in a rack, you can reinstall the power
supply units, library control card, and drive canisters that were removed to reduce
library weight for installation.
The replacement procedure is the reverse of the removal procedure. See "Removing
the Power Supply Units" on page 6-4 and "Removing the Library Control Blade" on
page 6-5.
