Replacing the Accessor Flat Cable Plate Assembly
The Accessor flat cable forms the communication and control path between the
Library Control Blade and the Accessor. The cable loops back upon itself lengthwise,
on a plate assembly along the length of the library, as the accessor moves backward
and forward accessing cartridge slots and loading/unloading the tape drives.
Removal Procedures
1. Take the library offline. See "Taking the Library Offline/Online" on page 7-23.
2. In the Operator Panel top menu, select Unlock Magazine, and press Enter.
3. Select All Magazines, and press Enter.
4. Remove and clearly label the cartridge magazines from the library.
5. Power OFF the library by toggling the power supply switch on both supplies to

8. If the library is installed in a rack, remove the library from the rack and remove

The Accessor assembly contains several electric motors
that generate an electrical current when moved.
Accordingly, the Library Control Blade must be removed
to prevent damage due to induced voltages when moving
the Accessor.
