Base gasket and surfaces must be DRY and oil free.
Use care upon assembly to keep oil away.
◆ Apply liquid gasket【E】to meeting surface of the
crankcase.

◆ Since there is a difference in cylinder wear in
diff erent directions, take a side-to-side and a front-
to-back measurement at each of the three locations
(total of six measurements) shown in the fi gure.
If any of the cylinder inside diameter measurements
exceeds the service limit, replace the cylinder.

◆ Measure the outside diameter【A】of each piston
5mm (0.20 in.) 【B】up from the bottom of the
piston at a right angle to the direction of the piston
pin.
