REAR BEARING CARRIER
INSTALLATION
1. Install drive shaft through the backside of the bearing
carrier.

2. Install the four fasteners
bearing carrier to the trailing arm. Install the one
w
fastener
that attaches the upper radius rod to the
bearing carrier. Torque bolts to specification.
NOTICE
Use new nuts upon installation of the rear bearing
carrier.
TORQUE
Bearing Carrier to Trailing Arm Bolts:
44 ft-lbs (60 Nm)
Outer Radius Rod Fastener:
52 ft-lbs (70 Nm) + 90°

3. Clean drive shaft splines and hub assembly splines
thoroughly with contact cleaner and a wire brush.
Remove all/any Loctite® residue.
IMPORTANT
Removal of all Loctite® material is a labor intensive
process and may take up to 10 minutes or more to
complete. It is critical that these surfaces are clean and
no residual Loctite® material or corrosion is present.
4. Apply Loctite® Primer 7649 to the hub assembly
splines. Allow 90 seconds for the primer to dry.
5. Apply Loctite® 680 to the hub-side splines of the
drive shaft. Apply Loctite® 680 around the entire
circumference of the end of the hub-side splines, and
then apply Loctite® 680 in a spiral pattern as shown.
CAUTION
Use caution to avoid getting Loctite® on the drive shaft
threads or castle nut.
6. Install rear wheel hub assembly
and hand tighten the castle nut. Install washers with
domed side out.
