Throttle Position Sensor Adjustment

IMPORTANT: The correct position of the throttle
body valve angle is established and set at the
factory. If the TPS was repositioned, replaced or
loosened, it must be recalibrated. Do not adjust the
throttle body stop screw. If the throttle body stop
screw is adjusted, the entire assembly must be
replaced.
1. Very the throttle body is closed. Loosen the throttle
cable if required.
2. Verify TPS Tester PU-47082 and test leads are still
connected the TPS.
3. Loosen the mounting screw (B) holding the TPS to
the throttle body.
4. Rotate the TPS until the meter reads .690-.730Vdc.
TPS Output Reading
.690 - .730 Vdc
5. Tighten the TPS mounting screw and verify the
voltage did not change.
6. Open and close throttle a few times to ensure full
throttle closing. Do not snap closed, as this could
cause unnecessary throttle plate-to-throttle body
interference and/or damage. Verify the voltage did
not change. If changed, repeat steps 3, 4, 5 and 6 or
inspect throttle body for possible wear or damage.
7. Reconnect the TPS harness lead.
8. Reinstall throttle body. Adjust cable freeplay if
required.
