ENGINE
AIR CLEANER ELEMENT
REMOVAL
The air intake system does not preheat ambient
air. The majority of the inlet air is directed into the
air cleaner front housing from the hood mounted
duct. The incoming ambient air passes through two
filter elements in the air cleaner (Fig. 15). From the
filters, ambient air passes through the throttle body
into the intake manifold.

(1) Unscrew the air cleaner cover screws (Fig. 16)
and release the top of the air cleaner assembly.

(2) Pull the air filter element up and off of the noz-
zle assembly (Fig. 17), the assembly is held in by the
lips in the housing (Fig. 18) for the filter element.

INSTALLATION
(1) Install the air filter element to the nozzle
assembly (Fig. 17), the assembly is held in place by
the lips in the housing (Fig. 18) for the filter element.
(2) Install the top of the air cleaner assembly.
(3) Install air cleaner cover screws (Fig. 16).
