(6) Place battery access cover into place and install
four bolts.
(7) Close deck lid.
(8) Verify vehicle and system operation.
HIGH BEAM
(1) Place headlamp into socket and turn clockwise
1/4 turn.
(2) Connect electrical connector.
(3) Place the headlamp access cover into position
and install the three nuts. Torque nuts to 4 N·m (35
in. lbs.).
(4) Install the front fender extension splash shield
on the respective side by and the fasteners (Fig. 14).
If wheel and tire assembly was removed, install.
(5) Connect the battery negative cable.
(6) Place battery access cover into place and install
four bolts.
(7) Close deck lid.
(8) Verify vehicle and system operation.
HEADLAMP UNIT
STANDARD PROCEDURE
STANDARD PROCEDURE - HEADLAMP UNIT
AIMING
First park the vehicle twenty-five feet perpendicu-
lar to the wall that the screen will be set up on and
parked on a level floor or ground. Then prepare vehi-
cle for headlamp unit/fog lamp unit alignment by
performing the following:
(1) Fill fuel tank or place weight in trunk to sim-
ulate a full load of fuel.
(2) Jounce suspension a minimum of three times
to settle suspension.
(3) Check tire inflation. Fill tires if necessary to
suggested specifications. Refer to vehicle Owner's
Manual or the vehicle Tire Placard inside the rear
edge of the left door.
(4) Turn the headlamps ON. Make sure that the
vehicle LOW BEAMS are on and not the high beams.
If the fog lamps are being checked, turn ON the fog
lamps w/park lamps only.
(5) Refer to (Fig. 12) for headlamp/fog lamp aiming
screen setup. The headlamps/fog lamps can be
adjusted vertically only.
STANDARD PROCEDURE - HEADLAMP UNIT
AIMING - EXPORT
First park the vehicle 10 meters (33 feet) perpen-
dicular to the wall that the screen will be set up on
and parked on a level floor or ground. Then prepare
vehicle for headlamp unit/fog lamp unit alignment by
performing the following:
(1) Fill fuel tank or place weight in trunk to sim-
ulate a full load of fuel.
(2) Jounce suspension a minimum of three times
to settle suspension.
(3) Check tire inflation. Fill tires if necessary to
suggested specifications. Refer to vehicle Owner's
Manual or the vehicle Tire Placard inside the rear
edge of the left door.
(4) Turn the headlamps ON. Make sure that the
vehicle LOW BEAMS are on and not the high beams.
If the fog lamps are being checked, turn ON the fog
lamps with park lamps only.
(5) Refer to (Fig. 13) for headlamp/fog lamp aiming
screen setup. The headlamps/fog lamps can be
adjusted vertically only.
