SERVICE ENGINE SOON WARNING
The EMIC monitors the Malfunction Indicator
Lamp (MIL) light message from the PCM and if bus
communication is lost from the PCM to the EMIC,
the EMIC will illuminate the MIL telltale and send a
single chime request to the BCM.
TIRE PRESSURE SYSTEM WARNING
The BCM monitors the tire pressure module. If
there is a malfunction: LOW, CRITICAL, DIAGNOS-
TIC or MODULE, then there will be a chime associ-
ated with each warning (Refer to 22 - TIRES/
WHEELS/TIRE
PRESSURE
DESCRIPTION) and (Refer to 22 - TIRES/WHEELS/
TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING - OPERATION) for
further information.
UNDER/OVER VOLTAGE WARNING
The EMIC monitors the PCM message for system
voltage and will light the indicator on the gauge and
request a chime from the BCM if the oil temperature
is out of range.
MONITORING

WARNING LAMP ANNOUNCEMENT
The BCM monitors critical engine system parame-
ters. If any of the systems are out of their operating
parameters, the EMIC will illuminate a lamp and
the BCM will activate an audible chime.
DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING - CHIME
CONDITIONS
The Chime/Buzzer System is diagnosed using a
DRBIII scan tool. Refer to the proper Body Diagnos-
tic Procedures manual.
Visually inspect the related wiring harness connec-
tors. Look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded
terminals. If any of the conditions are present, repair
as necessary. For complete circuit diagrams, refer to
Instrument Cluster in Wiring.
