Port 3

Port 3 is a general-purpose I/O port that also serves as peripheral I/O. Each pin can be
switched between peripheral and port operation in bit units. This section principally
describes the port functions when operating as a general-purpose I/O port.
The section describes the port structure and pins, the pin block diagram, and the port
registers for port 3.
Structure of Port 3
Port 3 consist of the following three components:
• General-purpose I/O pins/peripheral I/O pins (P30/SCK to P37/BZ/RCO*)
• Port 3 data register (PDR3)
• Port 3 data direction register (DDR3)
* : Pin RCO is available in the MB89120A only.
Port 3 Pins
Port 3 consists of eight I/O pins of a hysteresis input and CMOS output type.
As the I/O pins also serve as peripheral I/O, the pins cannot be used as general-purpose I/O
ports when the corresponding peripheral is used.
Table 4.5-1 lists the port 3 pins.
